Keone’ula Elementary School Community,
Aloha everyone, believe it or not we have reached the end of the 3rd quarter of this 2016-17 school year!!
We continue to work extremely hard to build on the academic success we created last school year. Thank you to all of our parents and families for staying engaged in your child’s progress, and remember the annual state wide assessment will take place in April. That measure of progress will continue to inform us on our success as a school. We ask that you assist us in encouraging every student in grades 3-6 to put their best effort forward during that assessment period.
Also, I would like to express my appreciation for your attendance and support at each of our parent activities this year. Recently our 6th grade students and teachers conducted their Invention Convention where they collaborated in groups to create a product which they then marketed and advertised to their parents to see who could garner the most investments. It was a tremendous success and an opportunity for students to apply what they have learned in a multitude of subject areas.
On March 3rd we also had our annual Read Aloud day where many of our community partners came out to read to our students and share their experiences in the world of work. We definitely want to express our thanks to all who took the time, including some of our own parents, and we invite others who wish to be a part of next year’s event to contact us as we are always looking for new readers.
On April 21st we will honor our military families with our annual Purple Up Day. Students are encouraged to wear purple in honor of the service our military families provide to our country. Then, that evening we have our 2nd annual Get Up, Get Moving Fair to promote staying physically active heading into summer. Many community partners offering summer activities will be here to promote their programs and even get your children signed up.
The end of the school year is fast approaching. Make your plans to participate in the great experiences we continue to provide here for your students. Thank you for your continued support and confidence in Keone’ula Elementary School. Go Cubs!!
